Marrakech, October 31, 2025: In the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (AUI), represented by President Dr. Amine Bensaid, and NAMA Women Advancement, represented by Director General Mrs. Mariam Al Hammadi, signed an agreement to establish the “Jawaher Fund for the Advancement of Women’s Education.”
The partnership establishes an annual research grants program dedicated to advancing women’s education and empowerment. The fund will provide a total of USD 100,000 to support AUI faculty members and students in developing innovative research projects across key disciplines, including Women’s Economic Empowerment and Leadership, Gender and Education, Digital Transformation and Inclusion, STEM, and Social Sciences projects with a gender-lens perspective.
The collaboration underscores AUI’s and NAMA’s shared commitment to empowering women through education, research, and sustainable development.
