The future of work is undergoing a significant transformation, with artificial intelligence (AI) poised to play a major role. To address this evolving landscape, Al Akhawayn University (AUI) partnered with Lavie Eco to host a dynamic discussion on May 14th at the CGEM conference room. Titled "AI, Gen Z, and Tomorrow's Skills," the event brought together a distinguished panel featuring Dr. Amine Bensaid, President of AUI, alongside industry leaders from Capgemini, CGEM, and CIH Bank. Moderated by the esteemed journalist Mr. Ouadih Dada, the session sparked a thought-provoking conversation that explored the critical skills Gen Z needs to thrive in the job market of tomorrow.

The discussion wasn't merely theoretical. Panelists, representing both academic and industry perspectives, delved into practical approaches for equipping young people with the essential skills for success. Critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to learn and adapt quickly emerged as key themes. These skills will be crucial for navigating the ever-changing landscape of AI integration and ensuring Gen Z can not only survive but also contribute meaningfully in an increasingly automated world.

The conversation extended beyond technical skills, acknowledging the importance of soft skills as well. Communication, collaboration, and creativity were highlighted as vital assets for Gen Z to develop. These skills will enable them to work effectively alongside AI, manage complex projects, and contribute innovative solutions to real-world problems.

The "AI, Gen Z, and Tomorrow's Skills" event was more than just a discussion; it was a call to action. It highlighted the need for collaborative efforts between educational institutions, industry leaders, and policymakers to ensure Gen Z is equipped with the necessary skills to navigate the future of work. By fostering a culture of continuous learning and fostering the development of both technical and soft skills, we can create a more adaptable and future-proof workforce, ready to thrive in the age of AI.
