Three talented students from Al Akhawayn University’s Master of Arts in International Studies & Diplomacy (MAISD) program—Yahya El Alami, Nassima Benrahmoune, and Zaynab Mensou—achieved a remarkable feat by winning the first prize at the prestigious AmCham Morocco Water Forum 2022 Competition. The competition, which focused on raising awareness about water conservation and sustainability in Morocco, challenged participants to create innovative and impactful short films addressing the pressing issues surrounding water resources in the country.

Their winning short film, which stood out for its creativity, compelling narrative, and strong message, tackled the critical challenges of water management in Morocco. By blending research, visual storytelling, and advocacy, the film highlighted the importance of sustainable practices and public engagement in preserving this vital resource. The project not only showcased the students’ expertise in diplomacy and international studies but also underscored their commitment to addressing global and local challenges through creative solutions.

This achievement reflects AUI’s dedication to fostering interdisciplinary learning, critical thinking, and impactful research. The university’s support for initiatives like the AmCham Morocco Water Forum empowers students to apply their knowledge beyond the classroom, contributing meaningfully to societal and environmental challenges. Congratulations to Yahya, Nassima, and Zaynab for their outstanding work and for representing AUI on such an important platform!
