Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (AUI) organized, on March 18 and 19, 2023, in partnership with CITI Association, and ATDTEC, and with the support of HPS, HPS Foundation, and CIH Bank the national robotics competition AUROBAT 2023. The theme chosen for this third edition is "Fruit Picking Robot".
This competition, which saw the participation of several teams from different cities of the Kingdom, aimed to encourage young people to practice robotics, to release their potential for innovation and to cultivate at home the skills and values of fair play, team spirit, solidarity, knowledge sharing, environmental protection and leadership. The robots built had to be autonomous and capable of performing specific tasks according to well-defined specifications. The grand prize was won by the Escalade Technology Team, junior category and by Flashes from the senior category.
During this competition:
106 teams registered for the Aurobat'2023 competition (Senior level: 58 teams, Junior level: 48 teams).
Participating teams in this competition are from 21 different cities in Morocco : EL JADIDA, Erfoud, ESSAOUIRA, Fez, Ifrane, Khemisset, KHOURIBGA, MARTIL, Meknes, Mohammedia, NADOR, RABAT, Safi, Sale, Sefrou, SIDI BIBI, Sidi Ifni, Tangier, Taounate, Témara, Tiznit.
29 teams qualified for the finals of this competition (Seniors: 15 teams, Juniors: 14 teams).
“During the third edition of the successful national robotics competition, AUROBAT'2023, we again witnessed the boundless creativity and ingenuity of our students. Participants presented various and innovative ways of bringing robots to accomplish competition tasks with precision and grace.” said Dr. Hassan Darhmaoui, Professor at the School of Science and Engineering of Al Akhawayn and organizer of this competition.
