Dr. Brian David Seilstad, Director of the Office of International Programs, and Engineering major Fatima Zohra Belhadj, attended the fifth annual conference of the Critical Edge Alliance last week. The conference was held in Paris, and it was the first time it was held in person, since the organization's last conference in 2019 from June 15 to 17, in Paris.
AUI is a founding member of the Critical Edge Alliance (CEA). Dr. Seilstad attended in his capacity as CEA Administrative Representative and Fatima Zohra Belhadj as AUI CEA Student Representative. The theme of the conference this year was "Acting in Higher Education in Response to Climate Change." The program featured a range of keynote speeches, panels, and workshops addressing this issue from various angles. The CEA continues to be a rich venue for the exchange of ideas and perspectives about critical issues in higher education.
