Dr. Jennifer Bugos leads the CALM Lab (Cognition and Coordination in Music Across the Lifespan), an NEA-funded research lab at the University of South Florida, where she mentors both undergraduate and graduate students from diverse fields. Her research explores the neurological basis of music perception and cognition, focusing on how music influences human development, lifelong learning, and cognitive transfer. This work has contributed to innovative music education programs tailored for both children and adults, including "Multimodal Music Training" for children and "Keys to Staying Sharp" and "Piano for Parkinson’s" for adults, addressing both healthy and clinical populations.
