The Netherlands Ambassador to Morocco, Jeroen ROODENBURG, led a Dutch delegation to meet over 30 Al Akhawayn University School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) International Relations students (IR) in an active discussion about foreign policy in Morocco, Netherlands, Ukranian War and Gender Parity in the Netherlands.
IR students spent over 2 hours in lively dialogue and casual lunch with the Director of the MENA Region from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Marc Gerritsen, plus Mr. Alexander Van Deinse, coordinator of the Maghreb Region, who both traveled to Morocco for the first time and wanted AUI to be part of their first visit. They were joined by Wichert van Dijk, Political counselor from the Netherlands Embassy and Ouissafane, Noufissa - Policy Officer.
Ambassador ROODENBURG told President Amine Bensaid "The AUI students were very well informed and actively engaged in current affairs." Director GERRITSEN posed many questions to students and came away believing "The AUI students think critically and gave us excellent perspectives that we will use going forward with our bilateral efforts."
