Job Overview:

The Peer Success Programs Assistant Manager serves a key role in supporting student success initiatives, in working towards the achievement of the student-centered services’ vision and mission, and in ensuring the quality of the services through training, evaluation, and certification, and in overseeing the development and improvement of institutional policies, regulations, and procedures.


Main Responsibilities:

The Peer Success Programs Assistant Manager is responsible for advancing student success efforts, recommending research-based decisions regarding the development of peer-to-peer programs and services, assisting in the planning, implementation and evaluation of student success programs, and collaborating with faculty and staff to narrow the gap of attrition and improve overall student satisfaction and success, and exercising judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action.

- Lead the planning, coordination, and monitor the implementation of New Student Orientation program.
- Facilitate and support students' educational success through the provision of student-centered educational services; Peer Tutoring, FYE Peer Mentoring, Writing Center, and the Inclusion Program.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate short and long-range strategies, goals, and objectives in peer-to-peer services.
- Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of student success services, and collaborate with faculty and staff to narrow the gap of attrition and improve overall student satisfaction and success.
- Ensure the seamless delivery of success services for students through the cooperative, collaborative, and timely effort of involved stakeholders.
- Oversee the Inclusion program and ensure accommodations are provided to students with learning difficulties who request them.
- Recommend development of and/or revisions to Center for Learning Excellence policies, regulations, and procedures in compliance with institutional regulations and internal changes.
- Coordinate data collection for evaluation of learning and operational outcomes in accordance with the timeline identified by the OIRE and any accreditation processes underway at the university.
Mentor, train, coach and evaluate student part-timers to support their skill development in goal setting, strategic planning, problem solving, confrontation skills, and interpersonal relationships, among other themes based on the CRLA Level I ITTPC and IPTPC curricula and best educational training practices.
- Support at-risk students through peer services to improve their academic success and feelings of inclusion and belonging.
- Expand the Center for Learning Excellence partnerships with liberal arts institutions and acquire new quality assurance certifications.
- Contribute to key unit reports such as annual and semi-annual activity reports, general documentation of services, and other documents as requested.

Qualification and Professional Experience:

• A minimum of 3 years of full-time experience with student success services and/or student-related services.
• Master’s degree from a liberal-arts English-speaking institution or equivalent.
