Simulating Work Through Gamification

Our gamification programs have become a powerful tool to enhance student engagement and career readiness. By integrating competitions into our programming, the office has been able to provide students with unique opportunities to showcase their innovative ideas and approaches to an array of industry experts. This approach not only makes career preparation more engaging but also helps students build their network, improve teamwork abilities, problem-solving, and time management in an enjoyable way.

The office regularly hosts multiple competitions every semester in partnership with various companies known for being industry leaders. These include the CIH Bankathon, the HPS Innovation Weekend, and the Infonemio Hackathon. Our hope is that evert AUI student sees how their Liberal Arts education can apply to all the industries explored in these events.

Readiness Skills Coaching

Through personalized coaching sessions, students receive tailored guidance to enhance essential soft skills for interviews and workplace etiquette. This includes everything from creating individual elevator pitches to knowing what clothing is appropriate to wear for the office, all to build confidence when interviewing and in the workplace.

These one-on-one coaching sessions allow students to reflect on their strengths and areas for improvement while gaining practical strategies to succeed in interviews, internships, and future employment. By focusing on readiness skills, the office ensures that students are not only academically prepared but also equipped with the interpersonal and critical thinking abilities required in today’s job market.

Co-ops in Cities + Remote @AUI on Campus

Our Co-op and Remote@AUI programs give students the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, supplying them with real-world experience in a structured environment all the while pursuing their degree. Students can can apply what they've learned in the classroom and develop their skills in a professional setting. After graduation, participants enter the workforce with this professional experience, giving them an invaluable advantage in the hiring process.

For 2024, the office is proud to announce Remote@AUI opportunities available with: A&K Advisors, Cenerus, Ecothermique, Leyton, SilentBelievers, Sogetrel, and Wenov by Attijariwafa.

Matched Interviews of Graduating Students

Once students complete Readiness Skills Coaching, the office leverages our numerous dedicated relationships with employers throughout the globe to connect students with companies looking to hire. Not only do employers get candidates best suited for their companies' needs, but our students also get paired with companies and industries that connect directly to their academic experience, past work experience, and future career goals.

By facilitating direct access to employers, this initiative helps students navigate the competitive job market, offering them real-world opportunities to secure positions before graduation.

Entrepreneurship + Incubation On-Campus and Virtual

Our office seeks to foster entrepreneurship with a strong emphasis on nurturing innovative ideas and providing the necessary support for students to transform these ideas into successful businesses. Central to this effort is the university’s incubator, Building 4 Room 006, which serves as a space where students can develop their projects and receive mentorship from faculty and fellow student entrepreneurs. Our Director of Entrepreneurship, Nicolas Klotz, has decades of experience in entrepreneurship and regularly provides guidance to students and their ideas. Find him in Building 4, Room 006 every Monday and Thursday 5:00pm to 7:30pm, no appointment needed.

Our signature event for entrepreneurship, aptly dubbed "Entrepreneurship Month," is a month-long event designed to provide participating students with the opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial skills. Throughout the month, participants reform and enhance their idea after receiving multiple rounds of feedback from experienced entrepreneurs and industry experts. A handful of students qualify for the final angel round, where angels can donate funding, networking opportunities, and other resources to the projects they like the best. Last year, we had 700 students participate with over 600,000 MAD raised for qualifying projects.
