Dr. Abdelghani El Asli is a full professor at the School of Science & Engineering, Al Alkhawayn University in Ifrane. He holds a master’s degree from City College of New York and a Doctorat d’Etat from University Abd Elmalek Essaadi in Tétouan, Morocco, in joint supervision with the Institute of Microbiology, Heinrich-Heine-Universitaet, Dusseldorf, Germany.
His main research activity is focused on the bio-valorization of natural resources and organic by-products with a center on the bioconversion of lignocellulosic, lipids, and other organic biomass into bio-energies such as bioethanol, biogas, and biodiesel (microalgae). He has conducted research as well on green buildings, sustainability, use of information technology in education, resource management, and the concept of zero emission using Circular Economy and Material Flow management. Prof. El Asli is leading the Competence Center of Sustainable Resources and Energy Management at AUI and championing collaboration with Trier University, Germany.
