Adil Barrada holds a doctorate in Hispanic Philology from the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM), under the title: Pragmatics, cognition, and translation studies: analysis of irony, intertextuality and phraseology in literary translation from Arabic into Spanish. He is a Hispanist researcher and professor of Linguistics and Translation at the Moulay Ismail University of Meknes, Morocco. His field of research covers historical, literary, and intercultural studies in the area of translation in the Iberian and Mediterranean spheres. Among his publications: Pragmatic-cognitive theoretical approach to irony and intertextuality (Diwan 2019). In addition to his literary translations: El periplo de Al-Hayari (Diwan 2018); La mujer del olvido, in collaboration with Celia Téllez Martínez; and work of the Moroccan writer Mohammed Berrada (Cantarabia 2014). He has also published articles on translation and translation studies, among others: Analysis of the translation problems of collocations in La mujer del olvido, by Mohammed Berrada" (2013), and Intertextuality & translation (2012).
