Fouad Chaatit graduated with a Doctoral degree in 1985 from Université Paris VII. He taught at Mohammed V University in Rabat for three years, and in 1988, he moved to Austin, Texas, where he worked as instructor and earned a Ph.D. in Banach space theory in 1993. He worked as a Visiting Professor at the University of Texas at El Paso from 1993 to 1994, then as a Visiting Professor at the University of Missouri at Columbia from 1994 to 1995. He joined Al Akhawayn University in 1995 as Assistant Professor. He has authored several fundamental mathematics articles. At AUI, he has been coordinator of the Science and Engineering programs, instrumental in the ABET first full accreditation of the CSC program, appointed chair of the AUI strategic planning follow up committee, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Chair of the NECHE Accreditation Steering Committee. He is Full Professor of Mathematics and Interim Dean at SSE.
