Dr. Benhayoun Issam is a part-time faculty of Accounting and Finance at School of Business Administration (SBA) – Al Akhawayn University (AUI) and an Assistant professor (full time) of Accounting and Finance at ENCG Meknes [National School of Business and Management] – Moulay Ismail University. Dr. Benhayoun holds a PhD degree in International Accounting (IFRS) from ENCG-Fez and a master’s degree (ENCG diploma) in Accounting and Financial Management from ENCG-Kenitra in 2020 and 2015, respectively. Dr. Benhayoun does not only wear an academic cap, but also a professional one. Prior to joining academia, he worked as a Financial Accounting Analyst in one of the biggest real estate groups in Morocco (2016-2020) in which he got promoted to the Business Control Head of Division (2019-2020). He also worked as a Finance consultant as well as a management cell supervisor in other major Moroccan companies. Currently, he is still active in the professional world as a consultant in Accounting, Corporate Finance, and Moroccan Taxation. The mix between his academic and professional experiences gave him enough background to help students acquire an oriented-job-market skills necessary to better integrate and evolve within a professional context. And, that is exactly his teaching philosophy, which lies in creating a bridge between theory and practice. Dr. Benhayoun teaches Accounting Principles I, Accounting Principles II, Principles of Finance I, Moroccan Accounting, Moroccan Taxation, Corporate Accounting (undergraduate), Introduction to Accounting, Introduction to Finance, Advanced Topics in Accounting, International Accounting, and International Financial Reporting Standards (graduate). His field of interest is in international accounting standardization, adoption theories, IFRS adoption, structured literature reviews, and meta-analysis.
