Said ENNAHID (Ph.D., Arizona State University), archaeologist and Professor of Islamic art and architecture. In 2014, Ennahid won a Fulbright Visiting Scholar Award to conduct his project on cities and urban life in Medieval Morocco at The Gustav E. von Grunebaum Center for Near Eastern Studies (UCLA). The same year, he won The Barakat Trust Senior Visiting Scholarship to continue research on this project at The Khalili Research Centre (Oxford University). Ennahid’s current research interests include 1) Islamic manuscript culture and intellectual history, more specifically, the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) for the preservation and valorization of cultural heritage in Morocco (archaeological sites and ancient manuscript collections) and 2) French colonial-period architectural history and urbanism with a focus on Casablanca. Ennahid is Expert Member of The International Committee on Historic Towns and Villages (CIVVIH) at The International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS).
