Celebrating Excellence: Al Akhawayn University's 25th Graduation Ceremony

Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (AUI) celebrated the graduation of its 25th class on Saturday, June 8, 2024. The ceremony featured HM the King's Advisor, André Azoulay, and members of the university's Board of Directors. Abdellatif Jouahri, Wali of Bank Al-Maghrib and Chancellor of the University, highlighted AUI's recent 10-year reaccreditation by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE) as a testament to the university's commitment to advancing Morocco's education system.

AUI President Amine Bensaid congratulated the graduates and noted that 70% of the class had secured employment before graduation, with many accepted into prestigious universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, Carnegie Mellon, and Columbia. He emphasized AUI's dedication to social responsibility, mentioning the university's support for over 16,000 individuals in remote areas last year and the success of 10 student-founded startups.

Guest of honor Mohamed Berrada, former Minister of Economy and Finance, urged graduates to embrace integrity, collaboration, and creativity in their careers. This year's graduating class includes 548 students from 14 nationalities, with 57% being women, showcasing AUI's commitment to diversity and excellence.
