Position Description Summary:
The Student Employment Office Coordinator serves as the central point of coordination for all student part-time employment activities at Al Akhawayn University, spanning paid and unpaid part-time positions as well as volunteering initiatives. The Coordinator is responsible for advertising, allocating, and overseeing these opportunities while upholding principles of equity, professional development, and meaningful student engagement.
A core aim of this role is to involve as many AUI students as possible in the day-to-day life of the university across academic, administrative, and campus service functions. The Coordinator also plays an active role in the University's Co-Curricular Transcript (CCT) project, ensuring that student employment experiences are systematically documented and formally recognized as part of each student's broader learning record.

Main Duties:
- Identify and develop student employment opportunities (paid, unpaid, and volunteer) across all campus units.
- Draft contracts and define student employment terms in compliance with University policies.
- Ensure equity, fairness, and inclusiveness in the allocation of paid and unpaid part-time positions.
- Provide a structured support system for students experiencing challenges with their part-time positions.
- Work in close collaboration with the Center for Learning Excellence to embed certification standards and quality assurance practices into student employment processes.
- Collaborate with the Admissions and Financial Aid Offices to maintain up-to-date eligibility requirements for scholarship-linked positions.
- Identify and coordinate training opportunities for student graders and for other roles tied to scholarship obligations.
- Contribute actively to the Co-Curricular Transcript (CCT) project by documenting student employment activities, competencies developed, and hours served, ensuring these experiences are formally recognized in students' learning records.
- Celebrate and showcase student employees' achievements through events, communications, and recognition initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and produce periodic reports on student employment data, trends, and impact.
- Assist the Director of Student Success & Engagement with all tasks pertaining to student success and engagement.
- Perform all other relevant duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Education, Student Affairs, Human Resources, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required; French and/or Arabic proficiency is an asset.
- Prior experience in student employment coordination, student services, or academic administration is an advantage.
- Experience as a peer mentor, peer tutor, residence life assistant, or student engagement leader is highly desirable.

- Strong public speaking, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students, supervisors, and University offices constructively and professionally.
- Ability to build and sustain working relationships across diverse departments and units.
- Ability to advise students and address challenges with empathy, fairness, and discretion.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
