From Ifrane to Samarkand: A Moroccan Youth Delegate’s Journey at UNESCO
Representing Morocco at the 14ᵗʰ UNESCO Youth Forum and the 43ʳᵈ General Conference in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, Hatim Lachheb carried the voice of Moroccan youth to the heart of global dialogue on education, sustainability, and culture.
Nominated by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection, Hatim’s participation reflected Morocco’s strong commitment to youth engagement and sustainable development. His presence at UNESCO’s global platform was the culmination of several months of preparation, collaboration, and dialogue with institutions and organizations that share a common conviction: that empowering young people through education, innovation, and environmental awareness is key to building a resilient and inclusive future.
During the Forum, Hatim contributed to discussions on the role of youth in advancing the UN 2030 Agenda, emphasizing the importance of cross-cultural cooperation and environmental responsibility. His participation not only highlighted Morocco’s proactive stance on sustainability but also showcased the potential of Moroccan youth to lead meaningful change on the international stage.
