Abdelkrim Marzouk holds a Ph.D in Geography from Graduate School of Geography at Clark Univerity Worcester Massachussetts, USA. He worked for the Geospatial Technology Laboratory at Clark University, which is dedicated to the research and development of geospatial technologies for decision making for environmental management. From Janaury to August 2005, he worked as a Research assistant to the Editors of Geographical Review Journal, Clark University Worcester, MA, USA. In September 2005, Dr. Marzouk joined Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco. He lectures and researches in the field of geography, local development, environmental management, and geographic information system and remote sensing. Since 2017, he is serving as the academic Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and Director of continuing education at Al Akhawayn University.
His interests include Geographic Information Systems, remote sensing, quantitative environmental modeling, and land use land cover change science. He has worked extensively on different research projects and contributed significantly to major projects conducted in the school of Humanities and Social Sciences, including “Parties, Influence, and Governance in Morocco”, “Poverty alleviation and natural resource management”, and urban planning. In the last eight years, he managed a number of projects related to territorial management, including but not limited to PCD, PDR, SRAT, and digitalization of municipalities.
