Abtin Nourmohammadzadeh
School - SBA Office - Building 16, Office 136 Office hours - Office extension -Dr. Abtin Nourmohammadzadeh is an academic and researcher specializing in Operations Research, mathematical modelling, optimization and machine learning. He obtained his PhD in Germany from Clausthal University of Technology, Faculty of Mathematics/Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering. He subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Hamburg, further developing his expertise in advanced modelling and optimization methodologies.
His research focuses primarily on the development and application of mathematical modelling and optimization methods, including exact, heuristic, metaheuristic, and matheuristic approaches. He has extensive experience applying these techniques to complex real-world problems in transportation, logistics, supply chain management, production planning, and healthcare.
A further area of his research is the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and data-driven techniques with optimization. His work includes the application of machine learning and artificial neural networks to enhance optimization methods and to address problems involving estimation, approximation, pattern recognition, classification, and clustering. He also has experience in designing data-driven and AI-driven optimization approaches for complex decision-making problems.
In addition to his research activities, Dr. Abtin Nourmohammadzadeh has teaching experience in business informatics/analytics, optimization, and machine learning, combining theoretical foundations with practical applications. His research findings have been published in high-ranking international journals and presented at prestigious international conferences.
