Dr. Khallaayoun is a full professor of Engineering at Al Akhawayn University. He Earned a BS, MS, and PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Montana State University. Professor Khallaayoun co-established and co-managed the Center for Learning Excellence for 6 years. He also held multiple administrative positions, such as the coordinator for the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), and the First-Year Experience (FYE) program that he managed for more than 3 years, among others. Dr. Khallaayoun's research interest relates the smart grid and grid connected systems, Alternative fuel vehicle, and Green Hydrogen.

Professor Khallaayoun was and currently the PI of multiple regional, national, and international research projects and published more than 40 papers on various topics. Currently Professor Khallaayoun is the National coordinator for the AFRETEC Network.
