Dr. Asmaa Mourhir holds a Ph.D in Computer Science from Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah University, Fès (2016) and a Master of Science in Computer Science from Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (2000). Currently, she holds a position as Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Al Akhawayn University, where she has been serving since 2003, and contributed to several research and development projects. Prior to that, she worked in industry as a software engineer. Her teaching experience includes core computer science topics, as well as deep learning and machine learning for digital transformation. Professor Mourhir is an active member of the Applied Language Processing and Artificial Intelligence Systems (ALPAIS) research unit at Al Akhawayn University. Her previous research interests include Voice over IP and multimedia processing, and integrated environmental modeling using soft computing techniques. Her current research interests are focused on the use of deep learning in Natural Language Processing, applied in particular to Darija.
