Hicham Assoudi

Dr. Hicham Assoudi is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Al Akhawayn University. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) from Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). He is currently a collaborator with LATECE-UQAM, the Transdisciplinary Research Laboratory on IT Ecosystems, and was previously affiliated with CRIA-UQAM, its artificial intelligence research laboratory.
 
His research focuses on applied AI for the Moroccan context, including natural language processing, large language models, speech and voice technologies, and multilingual and low-resource AI. His work includes the development and open-sourcing of AI models, datasets, and evaluation benchmarks.
 
He also brings three decades of international industry experience in software architecture, cloud computing, enterprise systems, and Oracle technologies. He is the author and co-author of two technical books on Natural Language Processing, Oracle Cloud, and AI engineering, and is an Oracle ACE Pro.
