Hicham Assoudi

Hicham Assoudi is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science in the School of Science and Engineering at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco. He earned both his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Master of Science in Software Engineering from Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), Canada. Before joining Al Akhawayn University in 2026, he accumulated over 30 years of international information technology and consulting experience across Europe, Canada, and the United States, including roles as Technology Manager at Oracle Corporation and IT Architect at IBM.

He holds the Oracle ACE Pro designation in recognition of his contributions to the global Oracle technology community. His research interests span artificial intelligence, natural language processing, multi-agent systems, and multilingual large language models, with a particular focus on low-resource languages and applications in enterprise data engineering. He has published over a dozen scientific papers and is the author or co-author of two technical books: Natural Language Processing on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (Apress, 2024) and A Practical Guide to Oracle AI Engineering (Packt, 2026). He has open-sourced specialized natural language processing models and datasets tailored to the Moroccan context.

His academic background includes research affiliations with UQAM's CRIA research center and LATECE laboratory. His teaching interests span artificial intelligence, natural language processing, cloud computing, databases, the Internet of Things, and real-time data analytics.
