Dr. Musa Mustapha is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the School of Science and Engineering (SSE), Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fès, awarded with highest honors and fully funded through the African Union–ASRIC Scholarship. He also holds an M.Eng. in Computer Applied Technology, with Distinction, from Changchun University of Science and Technology, China, fully funded through a Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) Scholarship, and a B.Sc. in Computer Science, with First Class Honors, from Federal University Dutse, Nigeria. Prior to joining AUI, he was a National Research Foundation (NRF) Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Nelson Mandela University, South Africa.
His research interests span artificial intelligence, deep learning, computer vision, large language models (LLMs), and geospatial analytics, with applications in environmental sustainability and precision agriculture. His teaching interests include computer networks, computer programming, database systems, deep learning, and computer vision, with an emphasis on practical, hands-on learning and real-world applications.
Dr. Mustapha brings over eight years of academic experience, complemented by professional experience in IT infrastructure, networking, and digital transformation across national and international non-governmental organizations. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and contributes to the academic community through peer review for international journals.
