Samer Al Kork is Dean of the School of Science and Engineering and Professor of Bioengineering at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco. He earned his Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of Illinois Chicago and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. His academic career spans more than 20 years across the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. Before joining AUI, he served as Professor of Electrical Engineering, Department Chair, and Director of the Robotics Research Center at the American University of the Middle East in Kuwait. His research interests include robotics, artificial intelligence, biomechanics, biomedical sensors, and wearable technologies, with applications in healthcare, rehabilitation, and human–machine interaction. He has authored numerous scientific publications and contributed to interdisciplinary research and international collaboration. Throughout his career, he has supported curriculum development, ABET accreditation, research innovation, and partnerships connecting academia and industry. At AUI, his leadership focuses on student success, academic excellence, research engagement, and continuous institutional improvement.
