Samer Shafiq Al Ashhab is an Associate Professor of Mathematics in the School of Science and Engineering at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco. He earned his PhD degree in Applied Mathematics from North Carolina State University, USA. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from North Carolina State University, USA. Before joining AUI in 2025, he had a long career in research in teaching that spans the USA and Saudi Arabia.

His research interests include nonlinear ordinary differential equations, typically obtained from reduced partial differential equations in fluid flow applications. It also covers analytical studies of existence and uniqueness, as well as the Adomian decomposition method applied to nonlinear ordinary differential equations. He is also interested in studying singular ordinary differential equations. Additionally, his research spans symmetries of PDEs with applications to Hamiltonian evolutionary systems. He has published about 20 journal articles, more than 10 of them in journals indexed by Clarivate’s Web of Science.

His teaching interests and experience included teaching all undergraduate mathematics classes, including statistics and numerical methods, as well as basic calculus and linear algebra.
