Christopher Taylor

Dr. Christopher S. Taylor is the Vice President for Academic Affairs and a Professor of Islamic and Middle Eastern History at Al Akhawayn University. Prior to his appointment at AUI, Dr. Taylor served for nearly three years as the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty at Habib University in Karachi, Pakistan. For 28 years Dr. Taylor was a member of the faculty of Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. In 2013-17 he was appointed as the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Drew and in 2016 he was also appointed as the Dean of the Caspersen School of Graduate Studies at Drew. Dr. Taylor earned his B.A. in History from The Johns Hopkins University and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Near Eastern Studies from Princeton University. He has also previously taught at the American University in Cairo (AUC), where he was also the Acting Executive Director of the Center for Arabic Study Abroad (CASA) and at Yale University, where he served for two years as the Dean of Grace Hopper College.
