AUI Housing Options

Housing Options

The housing and Residential Life office offers students with a range of housing options including triple, double, single, studio double, studio triple, and studio single rooms in different gender-segregated Residence halls. All rooms are well equipped, and each student has his/her bed, desk, chair, drawer chest, and closet. Bathrooms and toilets are integrated in the room and students do not need to line up for common bathrooms in the hallways. Also, each residence is equipped with a common space/lounge where students can gather, interact, and learn.

Resident Assistants

Resident Assistants

Housing and Residential Life is committed to enriching residential life by creating a healthy and positive environment that is conducive to student development and success through the active participation of the Resident Assistants (RAs).

52 students are serving as RAs and their presence is an integral part of residence halls and enhances Living learning communities( LLCs) within their residences. The RAs help to build a community within residence halls and act as role models and mentors. They also contribute to maintaining positive living conditions among the residents. By organizing different activities and programs, RAs promote team building through teamwork. The activities are fun and aim at increasing awareness regarding different contemporary life issues.

Qualifications for Being an RA :
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student during the term of employment.
  • Must have resided on campus for a minimum of one semester.
  • Must maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA for undergraduate students and 3.0 for graduate students at the time of application and employment. Academic standing and job performance evaluations will be conducted periodically by Housing managers.
  • Good leadership and social skills
Job Description:
  • Develop a community atmosphere
  • Be visible in the residence hall and approachable.
  • Keep up-to-date on-campus activities, and encourage involvement.
  • Mediate roommate and personal conflicts.
  • Be familiar with different emergency scenarios and how to respond to them.
  • Fulfill on-call and duty responsibilities.

Room Reservation

All Newly admitted students are requested to make their housing reservation before the move-in days. A link to an online Housing Questionnaire is sent to all incoming students upon admission and preregistration confirmation to AUI.

Withing the framework of Learning Living Communities (LLCs) and in collaboration with FYE, all new students are assigned to specific buildings to facilitate their integration into the university environment. Accordingly, the housing and Residential Life office including the RA program organizes specific programs targeting new students to enrich their first-year experience.
