Recognizing Al Akhawayn University's commitment to social responsibility and its vital role in spreading knowledge and fostering creativity among young minds, we proudly present the fifth edition of the International Children's Literature Award competition. Our motto, "For a Reading Youth," underscores our dedication to nurturing a love for reading and learning from an early age.
This competition is designed to inspire storytellers to craft engaging short stories in Arabic tailored for elementary school students. Our goal is not only to ignite creativity but also to instill in young readers an understanding of the principles of sustainable development, as advocated by the United Nations. Furthermore, we envision these stories embodying universal values that resonate with people of all cultures, such as respect, love, friendship, empathy, courage, perseverance, belonging, diligence, resilience, and accountability.
In line with these objectives, the competition aims to bridge children to the enchanting world of literature and knowledge sources, offering them a wealth of insights and information to foster a positive attitude towards reading. By enriching their minds with diverse experiences and nurturing their aesthetic sensibilities, we aspire to cultivate a lifelong passion for learning and creativity.
The Awards:
The top three winners will be awarded a cash prize based on merit, as outlined below:
- First Prize: 7000 dirhams
- Second Prize: 5000 dirhams
- Third Prize: 3000 dirhams
