Abderrahmane Lazrak
Abderrahmane Lazrak is an executive leader recognized for his ability to drive transformation and create lasting value in complex and demanding environments, often at the center of large-scale transformation initiatives.
He serves as Executive Director of Strategy at Al Akhawayn University, where he leads the implementation of the University’s 2025–2030 Strategic Plan and oversees the alignment of major institutional transformation initiatives across academic, operational, and governance dimensions, including artificial intelligence integration and digital transformation.
He has built an international career at the intersection of strategy, finance, and technological transformation, with experience across Europe, North America, and the EMEA region. Throughout his career, he has led complex transformation and performance programs within multinational organizations and public institutions.
He has overseen procurement strategies exceeding €1 billion, managed R&D investment portfolios of more than €160 million, and contributed to growth initiatives that generated over €800 million in incremental revenue during the COVID-19 crisis demonstrating how disciplined strategy execution can drive measurable performance, even in highly disruptive environments.
Prior to joining Al Akhawayn University, he held leadership roles within organizations including Sagemcom, France Télévisions, and Bpifrance, where he led strategic expansion, performance improvement, and international growth initiatives across complex and evolving sectors.
At Al Akhawayn University, he works closely with the University’s executive leadership to drive institution-wide transformation, translating strategic priorities into measurable and impactful outcomes, while strengthening governance frameworks and performance management systems across the organization.
In parallel with his executive responsibilities, Abderrahmane Lazrak has been teaching since 2019 as an Adjunct Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence, Innovation Management, and Venture Capital & Private Equity in Africa at ESSEC Business School and at Université Paris-Saclay. His teaching focuses on the strategic implications of emerging technologies and innovation ecosystems.
He holds a Master’s degree in Finance from EM Normandie Business School and executive certificates in International Corporate Finance and Strategy from HEC Paris.
