SAT: Scholastic Aptitude Test
The SAT Reasoning Test is a standardized test for college admissions in the United States. The SAT is owned, published, and developed by the College Board, a nonprofit organization in the United States.
To be exempted from taking Al Akhawayn General Admission Test: GAT, an SAT score of 1500 points minimum is required for English native speakers (Minimum of 500 in mathematics) and a minimum score of 1340 for non-native speakers of English (Minimum of 500 in mathematics ).
- Candidates with a required SAT score will be invited to take an admission interview where applicable.
- SAT holders applying for the scholarship, should have a score of 1700 points (Minimum of 500 in mathematics).

- SAT holders are required to send the official SAT report to the office of admissions.
English Language Requirements:
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
The TOEFL is required for all non-native speaker applicants.
Non-native Undergraduate applicants are required to provide a TOEFL score of 530 (iBT: 71) in addition to a minimum score of 4.5 (iBT: 19) in English Writing in order to be admitted to the regular programs, or a TOEFL score of 420 (iBT: 36) to be admitted to the AUI Language Center.
Non-natives Graduate applicants are required to provide a TOEFL score of 550 (iBT: 79) with a score of 5.0 (iBT 20) in English Writing in order to be admitted to the regular programs, or a TOEFL score of 450 (iBT: 45) to be admitted to the Al Akhawayn University Language Center.
International TOEFL (iBT)
To learn more about the International TOEFL and register for a test, you can access the TOEFL website at www.toefl.org. Applicants who intend to take the International TOEFL should make arrangements ahead of time and take into account AUI application deadlines. International TOEFL score reports should typically be received at the Office of Admissions before June 30th for the Fall semester and November 30th for the Spring semester. International TOEFL score reports usually take four to five weeks to arrive. TOEFL results must be sent directly from the testing agency to the University. Al Akhawayn Institutional TOEFL
Applicants who are unable to take the International TOEFL should make arrangements to take the Al Akhawayn Institutional TOEFL. In addition to the TOEFL examinations administered in Morocco and throughout the world, Al Akhawayn University administers an institutional TOEFL prior to the beginning of the Fall and/or the Spring semesters. The TOEFL is administered only to students who have applied for admission to Al Akhawayn University. These scores are valid only for admission to Al Akhawayn University. They may not be valid for other purposes. In the case of multiple valid TOEFL scores, the office of Admissions will consider the highest score.
IELTS: International English Language Testing System
Al Akhawayn University accepts a valid IETLS as an international English Language Testing System. It can replace the TOEFL to measure candidates’ proficiency in the English language.
Undergraduate candidates with IELTS scores who don’t have 5.5 in the writing section are required to take a writing placement test in English (WPT) to measure their writing skills.
Graduates candidates with IELTS scores who don’t have 6.5 in the writing section are required to take a writing placement test in English (WPT) to measure their writing skills
Online Interviews when applicable
International Undergraduates candidates may be invited for an online interview with the Admissions Committee. The Committee includes academic officers and faculty members. The interview focuses on interpersonal skills, motivation, fluency of expression, and general potential. The interview may take place primarily in Arabic, French, or English, as preferred by the applicant.
International Graduates applicants are required to sit for an oral interview if applicable
