Mr. Yassir Touhami

Mr. Yassir Touhami is the Chief Operation & Finance Officer, is an accomplished professional with over 25 years of international experience.  In his capacity as such, Mr. Touhami manages AUI’s ecosystem as he leads and executes all its strategies and finances to ensure excellent delivery of the University's 2020-2025 KPIs and objectives, assisting the University President in leading AUI to become an education beacon of the liberal arts system for Generation Z 21st century education in the Middle East and Africa, while growing by more than 2x the student body, the revenue and the infrastructure.

Mr. Touhami has extensive leadership experience managing business and financial operations, growth development, process re-engineering and technology modernization. Mr. Touhami has intimate knowledge of and experience in intellectual property matters, editorial content management, and Strategy and operations management.  Prior to joining AUI as the Chief Operation Officer, Mr. Touhami held several prestigious positions in several renowned multinationals. At Thomson Reuters where he served in different leadership roles such as Vice President, Global Head of Content and Editorial, Managing Director, Intellectual Property & Science, Middle East, Africa, and Russia/CIS, he has progressively been awarded greater areas of responsibility in terms of scope, resources and budget due to his excellent performance in this domain, has evolved from being part of the regional leadership team in Middle East, Africa and Russia to being part of the company global leadership team. Prior to Thomson Reuters, Mr. Touhami served as Group Director of Mergers & Acquisitions-Africa International Investments in ETISALAT, Emirates Telecommunications Corporation, where he successfully led key investment and asset acquisitions and closely working with the Group CEO for Investments and business development opportunities with a focus on Africa (at Etisalat).  He also headed, managed and led several units and projects during his career service in HEWLETT PACKARD and ERICSSON, among others, where he steadily moved from technical and operations services roles to managing services sales regionally, and internationally.

Mr. Touhami holds a Master of Business Administration from the London Business School, an M.S. in Telecommunications from the University of Pittsburgh, and a B.S. in General Engineering from Al Akhawayn University.
